Palm View Shelter has a new location but still operating in Camira (near Springfield Qld) and still running to the exact same standards as previously.
Palm View Shelter - is a joint effort with the CAVY RESCUE NETWORK - Uniting and embracing individuals and Guinea Pig Rescues all over Australia. To build a strong voice of communication, in the hope that all of our strength together, can make a bigger impact on the huge need of guinea pig rescues across Australia.
PALM VIEW - Guinea Pig shelter, is a Not for Profit, Non Funded, Volunteer based Shelter, dedicated to the ongoing care, commitment and well being of all guinea pigs - particularly those in need. In 2011, Palm View also opened their shelter doors to our smaller friends - rats and mice. The mice have taken off like a storm and hence the opening of MY LITTLE MOUSE Mousey and Shelter - which consist of , homeless mice and show quality mice. www.my-little-mouse.com
Palm View shelter is one of Qld's Largest Rescue and Rehoming, Guinea Pig Shelters and has
been operating now for around 4 years. My shelter is home to many guinea pigs and now with the private shelter 'Cavy Courtyard' on board, puts us in a much better position to cater for around 200 guinea pigs at any given time. This may include permanent resident cavies, special needs, rehabilitation cases, boarding cavies, quarantined, ill and perfectly healthy 'adoptables'.
Since originally opening as ACS Lakes shelter in 2008, and now branching out into my own direction as
Palm View Shelter - I have seen my fair share of 'Horror Stories', mistreatment, neglect and unspeakable
cruelty. Guinea pigs are still continuously looked upon as a low cost, easily disposable, kid's
pets.... the animal they get 'BEFORE' they are ready for a puppy.
Palm View Shelter adopts with high standards - ensuring that the once mistreated adoptables,
have been rescued, rehabilitated and then rewarded with finding their new families.... Forever!!!

Over the years, I have also found there is a need for mice and rats to have a safe haven to come to
as well. My Little Mouse has opened, to help towards giving our other little
friends, a place to stay whilst on their journey towards their new home.
My Little Mouse Shelter, is happy to take in Rats and Mice through out the year - depending on
circumstances and shelter numbers.
My Little Mouse is a registered member of the AusRFS Inc Qld Club and will be working towards being a registered Mousery, early 2012.
Healthy mice and rats will be available for adoption and may also be available in complete
package set ups, depending on cage availability.
