In the later months of 2011, Palm View Shelter was forced to close their doors due to my severe health issues. It was a difficult time, not only for myself but also for clients who were concerned about where to purchase their food & supplies and the stream of unwanted guinea pigs that were still attempting to be surrendered.
After a lot of work - I am really happy to announce that Palm View Shelter now has a Partner Shelter 'The Cavy Courtyard'. The Cavy Courtyard was opened to help me during the diagnosis of my illness - and is now officially opened to Stay!
The Cavy Courtyard will be a silent partner at this stage and all appointments etc will continue to run from Palm View Shelter.
We now have the advantage of a lot more space which in turn will allow us to cater for a higher amount of shelter animals. The work load will be eased with a partner and friend to share the commitments.
The Majority of animals will not be housed at Palm View Shelter, but will be returned for adoptions, viewing, collections etc. Appointments are very important so animals are not waiting in holding pens for too long.
The Cavy Courtyard will continue on with making up all guinea pig pre mixes which will be available via order only. Please understand that both shelters are run purely by Volunteer managers, with full time work commitments and families.
All food sales, Adoptables and Boarding Fees will continue to go between the care of both shelters. Whilst running a shelter is incredibly expensive and stressful - all of the support you give, definately helps our shelters continue running.

Palm View Resident Rats and Mice will be coming along to meet some friends and take their chances in the Pet Shows.
A great way to meet other like minded ratty and mousey people, come for a chat - bring along your pets, check out the displays and the awesome event put on by the AusRFS.

RSPCA MILLION PAWS WALK
Palm View Shelter is Walking the walk, talking the talk!!! Want to come along too? We will be attending the BRISBANE location on the 15th May Sunday.

Palm View Rescue & Recovery Shelter have been invited to run a display at the upcoming Qld Bird Fair & Expo at the RNA showgrounds - Sunday 27th March.
Join us on the day and cuddle a pig - chat with the manager (me) and meet my wonderful team of
volunteers. Information will be available on the day and my vollies and I, will be more than
happy to chat with you regarding any questions you may have. Come and meet our gorgeous
guinea pigs and say hello to 'Yogi Rat' - my very special ratty boy.
The Parrot Society of Australia Inc have organised a wonderful family fun day and bird
enthusiasts expo. The day will promote many many exhibitors of the bird world, Bees, Rodent
Fanciers and heaps more!!!
