PIGALICIOUS Pigalicious products are beautifully designed & handmade by Heidi. With a design & colour to suit just about any piggy possible, from Donut Beds to Sleepy Sacks - Pigalicious is able to cater for this very unique guinea pig market.
Before Pigalicious first began, Heidi & I were trying to find ideas on how to help shelter guinea pigs who were absolutely skittish or terrified of people - the type of pigs that were always difficult to hold but required much needed confidence, security and handling.
This is where the first Summer & Winter Sacks began!!
Whilst I find it difficult to choose between Heidi's beautiful range of products - I can definately say that the Summer sacks (being my personal favourite) are the most practical solution to calm down the most craziest of piggy personalities, whilst also being extremely beneficial to the younger members of the families ... the children!
In some of my 'surrender cases', a lot of the parents tell me that the children didn't like holding their pigs as they were always trying to escape. Others say that the children were scared of the feeling of piggy nails on their skin and the guinea pigs were often dropped (from a standing height).
So for this VERY reason, I highly recommend the use of a summer sack for children to hold their pigs in - whilst sitting.
Pigs feel very cosy and secure, they tend to relax within minutes of being placed gently into their summer sack and regain confidence in their 'holder' very quickly. It also makes things a lot easier for children as well - the guinea pigs seem to 'stay put' and will comfortably sit for a longer time happy to be snuggly - particularly if they are being fed treats at the same time. Heidi is now able to offer 'water proofing' in some of her items.
